Estimation of Operating Cost of Dragline in Various Modes of Operation

Draglines are the most expensive piece of excavating equipment at the mine site and it is important that they are operated safely, efficiently and economically. Draglines are versatile, and provide a low cost mining method The capital cost of any dragline reflects its cost of manufacturing which in turn, is mostly based on the size of the machine. The size depend on the simple moment of suspended load and operating radius. The ultimate goal of the dragline must be to maximize the rate of coal exposure at the lowest unit cost In this context,calculation of operating cost of dragline operation in various method has been done and compared critically,on case study basis. For the purpose, the annual productivity of different draglines operating in various mode will be closely parallel to the achievable figures in the mines. Principally, it will serve as a guide to the method employed in determining the operating cost in various method.
