Application of LED Lighting System in Mines and Allied Industries

摘要

This paper presents general requirements of lighting including sources of lighting in surface and underground mines. Effects of lighting on human health and psychology were presented. Regulations related to mine lighting and advantages of LED system of lighting over conventional system of lighting are discussed. Illuminance Measuring techniques and instrumentation are briefly enumerated. Comparison between Conventional Sodium/Mercury vapour lamp Vs. LED 80watts Street Light is presented emphasizing the importance of application of LED system of lighting for effective energy conservation.
