Delegates to the 82nd session of the international labour conference to be held at Geneva from June, 6, will discuss the importance of introducing safety measures for mine workers. This has become a priority as mine disasters continue to result -in innumerable deaths despite technological advances. Delegates will also discuss the application of conventions and the recommendations made. These have been prepared by different member countries. The report prepared by the committee of experts in this connection will also come up for discussion. The report of the director general of the international Labour organisation enumerating aspects of world employment will also be discussed, Also on the agenda are discussions on employment generation and a social clause linking labour standards with international trade.
