摘要

In our study of linear water wave problems we applied finite difference method to solve wave equations assuming some appropriate boundary conditions in three dimensional stratified layered fluid media. In practical field ocean may be looked upon as three dimensional stratified layered fluid media with variable density in different layer. Therefore this study is of considerable interest and important in study of water wave problem. Here numerical schemes are discussed for number of layers. Some approximations and various assumptions are taken into consideration to obtain linear water wave equations. Dispersion curves are drawn in two, three and five layered medium which shows dependence of frequency on various values of wave number.
