As if the bearish economy weren't enough to wrestle with. Now machinery original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) trying to meet fabricators' demands have other fearsome market animals to contend with-the piranhas of global competition, a fat hippo of a used machinery market, machinery budgets tighter than a python's coils, and lot sizes smaller than a mosquito's footprint. Companies across the precision punching market seem to be up against the same cage of beasts, but they're finding different ways to kill them-lower machine costs, simpler operation and maintenance, remote monitoring, and easier software updates to name a few. Which goes to show just how creative companies can get when the battle gets nasty.
