Rittal GmbH & Co. KG, Rittershausen, Germany, is a system provider for control cabinets, power distribution, climate control, and IT infrastructure, as well as software and service. The plasma powder welding process that the company was using was well-suited for welding control cabinet frames because of their high surface quality requirements. However, the process was maintenance-intensive. The company needed to increase cycle time, reduce downtime, and reduce maintenance costs.
