Ovarian Hyperthecosis and Stromal Leydig Cell Tumor in a Postmenopausal Woman With Virilization

We report a rare case of bilateral ovarian hyperthecosis concealing a stromal Leydig cell tumor in a postmenopausal woman with virilization. Clinical, laboratory, radiologic and pathologic findings are presented, and a review of the literature pertaining to ovarian hyperthecosis and stromal Leydig cell tumor as etiologies of virilization is performed.Stromal Leydig cell tumor is exceedingly rare. Its coexistence with ovarian hyperthecosis has to date not been reported as a cause of postmeno-pausal virilization.
