Mecinuspascuorum (Gyllenhal) (Curculionidae) in East Lothian

On 23 May 2012 I swept five examples of Mecinus pascuorum (Gyllenhal) from a small patch of very lightly vegetated sand near Barns Ness, Haddington, East Lothian (VC 82, NT722769). The only tall plants were very stunted viper's bugloss, Echium vulg?re, with various smaller plants, but not Plantago lanceolata which appears to be the only recorded food-plant (Morris, 2012). Most of the surface was bare sand.
