CERTAIN milling conditions and a coating of magnesium stearate (MgSt) can dramatically increase density and improve the flow properties of fine powders, researchers say. David Morton, a senior lecturer in drug delivery at Monash University, Australia, says the work builds on processes developed in the printing and paper sectors and looks to solve increasing segregation and poor flow characteristics of particle sizes below 50 urn.
