Clinical teaching

There are two potential reasons. First, at a personal level, teaching is an essential part of being a doctor: the word doctor means teacher. All clinicians should expect and want to be a teacher. Furthermore, teaching adds significant satisfaction, even enjoyment, to a professional career. Second -the corporate view - is that the expansion of medical education at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels means that all members of the clinical team are needed to contribute to teaching. This includes all members of the clinical team, from interprofessional health care students to senior clinicians.
