Patients are usually desper-ately keen to know their prognosis, and yet this is an area where different members of the health care team can give conflicting information. Some disciplines focus on the scientific aspects of prognosis, replete with statistical predictions. Others focus on psycho-social aspects, such as what remains to be enjoyed. The authors present this as one area where students of the various health disciplines would benefit greatly from interprofessional learning about individual approaches to prognostication.
