In addition to being a rancher, the writer is also an attorney who has seen many of thesecases unfold up close and personally. She's witnessed plenty of these agricultural thieves get light sentences, but has also noticed one county where they rarely do. "In Grimes County, the policy of the elected District Attorney Tuck McLain and his Senior Assistant District Attorney Andria Bender is to put these people [convicted of theft] in prison," the member writes.
