Texas hispanic population trend doubles beef's market potential

The market potential for beef in the state of Texas will exactly double between 1990 and 2030. In other words, the maximum number of potential customers in this state will increase from 17 million to 34 million in just 40 years. Every decade during this period, beef producers will enjoy better than a 10 percent growth potential for their products. The question is how best to take advantage of that opportunity. Dr. Steve H. Murdock of Texas A&M University, who serves as the state demographer, has done numerous studies of what this population shift will look like. The conclusion is it will be an era that significantly will alter the face of Texas.
