High calf prices sometimes make it hard to think about what to do to add value to your calves. It doesn't seem as important. But, this is the perfect time to start because you will be planning now to succeed later. This article focuses on production and marketing practices that cow-calf producers have been encouraged to examine as a possible means to enhance the profitability of their business. We also define the term value-added and examine how a producer can create value and discuss the results ofstudies of value-added management and marketing practices that cow-calf producers might incorporate into their operations.
