India Resources secures coal mine contract

INDIA Resources has executed a life of mine coal operations contract with Prism Cement to develop and operate the first phase of Prism's Sial Ghogri coal deposit over a period expected to exceed 30 years. Once operational, the first phase will produce 9.06 million tonnes of coal with a total contract value of Aus$249 million. The coal block is in the Pench-Kanhan Valley Coalfields of the Chhindwara district in Madhya Pradesh state. Production is for the sole consumption of Prism and the mine will be a critical source of energy, underpinning Prism's rapid growth in India.
