Femto Second Technology Research Association (FESTA) designed and made on a trial basis an optical switch with the fine semiconductor structure using the new theory based on the quantum dynamics proposed by Associate Professor Ishihara of Osaka University et al. and first demonstrated the compatibility between super high speed and high efficiency. Compared with a conventional semiconductor material, the new product implemented the super high speed by three orders and the highly efficient non-linear optical response characteristics by two orders.
