Portable Bioimpedance Spectrometer for Total Frequency Range of β-Dispersion

Portable bioimpedance measurement devices afford important solutions for providing measurement information non-invasively about patients' health in both clinical and home environments. In this work a portable bioimpedance spectrometer was developed for measurements in the frequency range between 1 kHz and 1 MHz in order to record the β-dispersion in the entire most interesting frequency range for the characterization of the pathological status of patients. The wide impedance range between 10 Ω to 10 kΩ was chosen for measurements comprising even the low impedances important in special medical applications such as monitoring of lung edema.
