One of the major problems with the modern vehicle engine is the cooling system, if the car would be driven without sufficient cooling, the friction against the cylinder walls would generate enough heat to cause the piston to seize in the cylinder. Seizure is not limited to an instance of lack of water, it also occurs when material, surface finish, and lubrication of the piston and cylinder walls are not satisfactory.
