With the announcement that Woodside's Browse Project would investigate floating LNG (FLNG) and the continued progress of Shell's Prelude Project FLNG technology has been a hot topic in Western Australia throughout 2013. Mr fas, an engineer with 27 years of experience in the field of onshore and offshore pipelines, looked at Australia's current LNG supply capacity and the expected capacity in 2016-17 and the huge impact on the length of large diameter onshore and offshore pipelines that will be in service.
