Everyone agrees that protection of the environment and economic growth are not mutually exclusive objectives, but rather two essential elements of a single goal: a stronger Australia. The repeal of the carbon tax and introduction of the one-stop shop will remove a huge regulatory and financial burden from the economy, while the Government's Direct Action Plan will present real opportunities for Australian businesses to innovate. In its first couple of months, the Government has made a strong start implementing its agenda and keeping its promises to the Australian people. Red tape, impediments to projects and high energy costs have been issues affecting the oil and gas sector in recent years and the Government is committed to delivering on its commitment to ensure Australia is open for business.
