Braskem-Idesa Awards Mexican Ethylene Plant Contract to Technip

Braskem-Idesa, a joint venture between Braskem and Idesa (Mexico City), has awarded a contract to Technip to build its world scale ethylene plant in Mexico. The project, dubbed Ethylene XXI, will be based on ethane feedstock and produce 1.05 million m.t./year of ethylene. It will be the core facility at the Coatzacoalcos, Mexico complex. It will also include a low-density polyethylene plant and two high-density polyethylene (HDPE) facilities. The joint venture has selected Technip to provide the technol- ogy for the ethylene plant, which is due onstream at the end of 2014.
