Bookstands intended for holding a book open so that it can be read, have been around for hundreds of years in many shapes and sizes. These days it is recognised that if a book is mounted on a bookstand at the right angle for reading, it helps to reduce possible neck and back ache for the reader (Photo.2).As my wife is an avid reader of books, I decided to make her one as a surprise birthday present (Photo.1).
