CIA outlines Brexit priorities for prime minister candidates

The Chemical Industries Association (CIA; London) has sent an open letter to all of the candidates to become the United Kingdom's next prime minister, outlining the UK chemical indus- try's priorities following the country's decision in a referendum to leave the European Union. UK prime minister David Cameron resigned following the vote for Britain to exit the European Union, a process commonly known as Brexit, triggering a leadership con- test within Cameron's Conservative Party. The contest's winner will automatically become UK prime minister. There are fve candidates, each one a senior member of the party. Conservative members of parliament will narrow the number of contenders to two in a series of votes, and Conservative party members will, in early September, elect the winner from the fnal two.
