State Oil Co. of Azerbaijan (Socar; Baku) has issued invitations to bid for a grassroots nitrogen fertilizer complex to be built by the company’s Azerikhimya subsidiary at Sumgait, Azerbaijan. The complex will comprise units producing ammonia and urea, and it will include a urea granulation plant. The urea plant will be designed to produce 2,000 m.t./day. The lump-sum turnkey contract will cover engineering, procurement, and construction services.
