US drives yOy gains in chemical rail traffc

During the week ended 28 May, chemical railcar trafc in North America totaled 44,064 carloads, increasing 4.7% year-over- year (YOY) and 1.2% from the previous week as a surge in the United States ofset declines in Canada, according to data released on 1 June by the Association of American Railroads (AAR). For the year to date, chemical railcar trafc in North America is up 0.7%, versus a 12.5% decrease in all railcar trafc, according to the AAR.
