Invista force majeure keeps US nylon 6,6 under pressure following Invista restart

Invista (Salt Lake City, Utah) said on Thursday that although its Victoria, Texas, facility is back in operation and ramping up to full rates, adiponitrile (ADN) and hexamethylenediamine (HMDA) customers will remain under force majeure. Invista did not say when the force majeure, which began in June, might be lifted. The result will be continued upward pricing pressure on nylon 6,6 resin and intermediates in the United States, say analysts at IHS Chemical. The market has already seen one price increase.
