Albemarle posted record third-quarter earnings of $93.7 million, 80% higher than the same year-ago period, on gains in flame retardant and catalyst volumes. Earnings of $1.02/share beat analysts' expectations of 85 cts/share, as reported by Thomson One (New York). Sales increased 14%, to $585 million.
