Albemarle and Chemtura Sign Supply Deal

Albemarle and Chemtura have entered into an agreement under which Albemarle will supply several flame retardants and brominated products to Chemtura, including decabromodiphenyl ethane, deca- bromodiphenyl oxide, n-propyl bromide, sodium bromide, and tetra- brom. Chemtura is essentially "ceding the larger volume commodity flame retardant market to Albemarle and ICL and may eventually shut down its bromine wells,?says Chris Shaw, chemicals analyst at Ticonderoga Securities (New York).
