Bertschi opens facility in Singapore, plans further expansion in Asia

Chemical logistics firm Bertschi (Dürren?sch, Switzerland), on 29 January, officially opened a new facility in Jurong Island, Singapore. The new facility, called the Bertschi Jurong Island Chemical Cluster (JICC), is Bertschi’s first in Southeast Asia. The S$45-million ($31.7 million) investment is designed to offer the company’s chemical logistics, processing services, and lean supply chain solutions to the specialty chemical producers along the ‘Ethylene Oxide corridor’ on Jurong Island, Bertschi says. The JICC is the company’s most advanced facility in Asia for the safe handling and storage of specialty and hazardous chemicals. Its location ensures that hazardous chemicals are kept on Jurong Island and it minimizes traffic going on and off the island.
