Saudi Arabia, the world's largest oil exporter, on Saturday appointed Khalid Al Falih, chairman of Saudi Aramco and current health minister, as its new energy minister, replacing Ali Al Naimi, 80, who had held a similar position since 1995. However, Al Falih will have consider- ably greater responsibilities as the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources has now been renamed the Ministry of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources, and now incorporates the former ministry of electricity as part of its portfolio.
