Jaguar owes a great deal of its current success to parent company Ford, but the jewel in its engineering crown Whitley Engineering Center, based just outside Coventry, UK - is entirely of its own making. The facility was set up in 1988, and employs over 3,000 people, all of whom work to maintain and advance the marque's sporty yet luxurious products. While Jaguar likes to promote its cars on the virtues of tradition and old-fashioned craftsmanship, Whitley Engineering Center has a distinctly high-tech flavor.
