On a roll: Burke E. Porter introduces customer-configurable roll test software

Burke E. porter's development of the innovative Customer Configurable Roll Test (CCRT) software was driven by a number of key issues that were of paramount importance to its customers. The need to find ways to reduce operating costs while at the same time creating faster turnarounds for model upgrades was identified. Implementation of remote accessibility and interactive diagnostic capabilities and the provision of test process and sequence control would also be a bonus, as would ensuring that the software would ultimately run on off-the-shelf hardware (a pocket PC) for static testing and remote diagnostics.
