Ineos ups the ante on UK shale exploration

Ineos, which has already acquired two licenses to explore for shale gas in the United Kingdom, is bidding for more licenses, according to Tom Crotty, group director at Ineos. Crotty spoke to CW on the sidelines of the recent Cefic General Assembly meeting in Paris. “We are very keen to see UK shale developed. That is why we have now bought two licenses and we are looking to buy some more. We will be applying for licenses for the 14th round across the UK,” he says. Both of its existing licenses are in Scotland.
