Linde lowers medium-term ROCE and operating profit guidance

Linde says it will not achieve the target for 2017 of return on capital employed (ROCE) of 11C12% and now expects ROCE of 9C10%. The targeted group operating profit for 2017 of European dollar 4.5C4.7 billion ($4.77C5.31 billion) is also not achievable and is expected to come in at European dollar 4.2C4.5 billion, the company says. The main reasons for the adjustments are substantially changed overall conditions compared with October 2014, when the targets were defined.
