Southern Society for Clinical Investigation Founders' Medal acceptance.

Good morning, members, colleagues, guests, ladies, and gentlemen. I have to first of all acknowledge that this was definitely a more than generous introduction and review of my background by Dr. Christopher Marino and to express my gratitude to him. I would also like to thank the selection committee for the honor of joining the 36 other recipients of this award since 1973.I have really enjoyed participating in all levels in the Society-it has been very rewarding for me personally and allowed me to feel I have a home away from home in our Southern Society for Clinical Investigation (SSCI) family, and I endorse active involvement to all of you and encourage those who have not held offices in the Society to participate.
