A Europe December toluene contract has settled at $577.50/m.t., slightly higher than the November settlement of $575/m.t. However, despite this initial settlement, contract discussions are still ongoing. Not all parties have agreed to this figure, and some have opted to use a fall-back mechanism whereas other participants are still in negotiations. Initial discussions opened with some close to $600/m.t., and this gap is proving hard to close.
