I read with interest the recent report by Jefferies and colleagues regarding a patient who had Andersen-Tawil syndrome along with "defibrillator twiddler syndrome." It was also interesting to read Dr. Parsonnet's letter to the editor concerning this article. I thank the authors for bringing the arrhythmias associated with the Andersen-Tawil syndrome to our attention. I question, however, whether this was truly a case of defibrillator twiddler syndrome or simply a minor misadventure associated with the patient's surgery. Either way, the case is instructive.
