Negotiation Result on Australian Thermal Coal for Power (FY2014)

In 2014, the spot market for thermal coal got weakened further in the Asian region, and the spot export price of Australian thermal coal meant for Asia dipped far below US$80 from February onwards. In a reflection of such a market situation, in late March, Tohoku Electric Power Co., Inc. and Glencore plc agreed to lower the contract price (FOBT: US$/MT) of Australian thermal coal (6,322kcal/kg: gross as received basis) for FY2014 to US$81.80.
