Japan’s Spot LNG Prices Contracted in Feb Averages US$6.5/MMBTU

According to the survey on prices of spot-LNG for February 2016, which was released by the Ministry ofEconomy, Trade and Industry (METI) on March 9th, 2016, the average spot contract price of LNG signed in February2016 was US$6.5/MMBTU with a decrease of US$0.6 from the previous month. Cold weather temporarily strengthenedwas not strong enough to increase electricity demand and did not lead to additional procurement. Inquiries from users,such as electric utility companies, remained weak.
