TEPCO's Receipt of LNG from Qatar 5 Times Larger than a Year ago

Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO) expanded its receipts of LNG from Qatar in fiscal year 2012 to 5 times as much as those in the previous fiscal year. TEPCO began to receive LNG based on the contract with Qatar to additionally purchase 1 million tons per year of LNG for about 10 years from August 2012. Its imports in the fiscal year reached 902,000 MT. The ratio of its LNG imports from Qatar to the total imports rose from 0.7% to 3.6%.
