Taiwan's FPCC Starts Turnaround Of No.2 Naphtha Cracker-It plans to resume operation of the halted CDU next week or earlier
Formosa Petrochemical Corporation, or FPCC, started periodical maintenance for No.2 naphtha cracker, having production capacity of 1,035,000 MT per year, on October 5th. The shutdown will last for 42-45 days. Although restoration work for No.1 naphtha cracker, capable of annually producing 700,000 MT of ethylene, was completed at the end of last month, which was seriously damaged on account of a fire accident occurred in early July, the company has to halt two naphtha crackers at the same time for 20-30 days as it is unable to resume operation of No.1 cracker until Taiwan authority grants the approval.
