Majority of Asciano’s Shareholders Accept Takeover

The scheme meeting of Asciano Limited, a major logistics company in Australia was held on June 3, and themajority of the Company’s shareholders accepted the takeover by the joint consortium.Accordingly, the focus now is on whether the Supreme Court of NSW in addition to the Australian Competitionand Consumer Commission (ACCC) and the Foreign Investment Review Board (FIRB) as a regulatory agency of theFederal Government will approve the takeover of Asciano by the joint consortium or not.
