JX to Run PX Plants at 75% in October - December 2014

JX Nippon Oil and Energy (JX Energy) has set the average operating rate at its all the PX plants (including the one in Korea) at 75% for the quarter starting October 2014, up from the 60% for the current quarter ending September 2014. The PX plant (1 million tonnes per year) in Ulsan Complex will keep 50%. The Ulsan plant, run by Ulsan Aromatics, a 50/50 joint venture between JX Energy and SK Global Chemical (SKGC), a subsidiary of SK Innovation, started commercial operation in June this year since when it has been operating at 50%. Each party takes the products based on feedstock supply to the facility.
