JERA to Handle 30-40 Mil MT of LNG in FY2030

JERA, a 50-50 thermal fuel venture between Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO) and Chubu ElectricPower Company, announced its business plan for fiscal year 2030 on February 10th, 2016, in which it set a goal to handle30-40 million tons per year of LNG. In July 2016, the existing fuel divisions of these two companies will be integrated intoJERA, of which LNG handling volume will amount to 40 million tpy. At the press conference on the day, PresidentKakimi showed his intention that although the handling volume might be reduced after seeking further efficiency in powergeneration, JERA will maintain the level by harnessing sales opportunities effectively to the third party.
