The spot market for metallurgical coal in the Asian region has been making a recovery although gradually sinceentering the latter half of December 2015.While the supply volume of metallurgical coal has been decreasing due to reduction reinforcement in the productionof metallurgical coal in the U.S., Canada, Australia and so on, the respective steel companies in China have increasedthe import of metallurgical coal so as to have an inventory accumulation prior to Chinese New Year, which leads to aslightly tightened demand and supply balance for metallurgical coal in the Asian region.
