At the beginning of January, the Government of China announced its policy not to allow developments of new coalmines in principle for 3 years from 2016 to 2018 so that it can curb the consumption of fossil fuels. Accordingly, thecountry’s coal production and consumption will be restricted by policy action from now onward.
