Flavors and fragrances firm Firmenich appoints new CEO

Firmenich (Geneva), the world's largest privately owned flavors and fragrances firm, has appointed Gilbert Ghostine as its new CEO, effective 1 October. Ghostine was most recently president/Asia/Pacific at Diageo, a leading premium drinks company. He succeeds Patrick Firmenich, who has been named vice chairman of Firmenich, effective October. Patrick Firmenich will assist Ghostine through the end of January 2015.
