The annual meeting of the T.I.C. is always an interesting occasion for those involved in the industry of tantalum and niobium. It gives us the opportunity to greet friends old and new, to compare notes and to see how the situation has changed since last we met. As we look forward to meeting very soon for the Forty-third General Assembly in Kyoto, some parts of our industry begin to see the green shoots which signify returning growth for tantalum. For others those shoots have yet to become evident. Meanwhile the use of niobium grows as gently as the trees and bushes of the T.I.C. arboretum we planted in Araxa.
