Peritonealdialysis (PD) is an established and well-known technique for renal replacement therapy in patients with end-stage renaldisease (ESRD) (1). The method used for peritoneal catheter implantation is an essential factor for optimal PD (2). Technique failures, such as catheter tip migration, are still an important limitation for PD development. A well-functioning dialysis catheter is essential for optimal PD. In order to obtain good drainage function, the catheter tip should be directed downward to the pouch of Douglas (3,4).
