摘要

The autoclave-accelerated method is used to measure the hydration rate of magnesia grains. The hydration process for highly pure electrically fused magnesia grains with cleaved surfaces was clarified by this method ~(1),2).). In the present experiment we tried to correlate hydration during a very long storage period to the autoclave method.Magnesium hydroxide layers formed on electrically fused magnesia grains with cleaved surfaces at the early stage of hydration depress the further hydration in room atmosphere.
